This place is a total gem of a find in Westboro. I popped in here today to check out the porchetta sandwich that Coy raved about a couple of years ago. Thankfully, it's still there!

I stepped inside this bright and spacious space that is part specialty grocery store, part coffee bar, sandwich shop, and part deli. I was asked almost immediately if I needed help, and Sal, one of their employees was wonderful. He told me they've recently started making hand-made sausages and will be making even more flavours in the coming months. They're also expanding their already huge meat selection - woo!

The place has undergone a few changes over the past few years, namely that they've opened up what used to be Caffe Ventuno and have included it as part of the shop. It's now a beautiful coffee bar with simply divine coffee. There's a counter to sip or much at, and some tasty sweets as well. I couldn't resist sampling the ginger molasses cookie, which is my go-to at Starbucks. The Nicastro version was a million times better! Soft, but not gooey, the flavour was perfect and it's a good thing I only took one with me or I could easily have gobbled up the whole supply.

As I mentioned, I tried the Porchetta Sandwhich, which is roasted traditonal herbed sweet and sour pork and pickled red onions on homemade rosemary bread. HOLY. It's beautiful.

I can't wait to come back here, try some more things and just browse the store. If you love real, strong brewed Italian coffee, fresh meats and cheeses and anything Italian you need to run, not walk to this place immediately!

I just wish I have something like a II Negozio Nicastro in my neighbourhood!

An one stop destination: Italian Grocery, Sandwich Shop, Coffee/Beer Bar! A great selection of local and imported produces.

I definitely prefer this location better than the Bank Street location as the vibe here is more than just a grocery store like setting.

Ended up picking up a bag of Happy Goat Coffee and I was a happy camper!

I didn't even know this place existed or wouldn't have come by here if it wasn't for a Wellington West event .  We wandered this strip checking out all the local shops and I had a great time.  As I walked past this place, I caught out of the corner of my eye...something that I knew would change my life that day...PORCHETTA SANDWICHES!!!

I Immediately left my group to walk in and hunt down a porchetta sandwich.  As I saw them carving the porchetta and putting it onto slices of bread I knew my day was complete.  I walked out , took a bite and my friends could see I was in heaven.  I'd say it felt like Christmas morning.  I've had some decent porchetta in Canada but a fresh version of this one comes out near the top!  It was delicious.

The store itself seems like a smaller version of the one in the market.  They do offer a good selection of items and some of them can be expensive but you can also find great deals.  For me though the star in this shop is definitely fresh porchetta!  I have to call ahead and hopefully get a great piece to take away.  I guy working behind the deli counter was a star though.  Super friendly, extremely helpful and had great opinions on all things food related!

I can't believe I have lived 15 minutes by foot from this place and had never been!  This place has a great selection of cheese and Italian goodies.  I was here for one reason, cheese and boy is it a good place for cheese.  They have a very good selection (not as good as some dedicated cheese shops but for a place that sells other things it is a brilliant selection) and the service is impeccable.  I was looking for a few different kinds and the guy behind the counter was really helpful and was willing to offer some samples to see what would be good, the guy at the cash was also super friendly.  The prices are not too bad for fancy cheese and they have cheese from all over the world, including a huge selection from Quebec.  I will have to go back again to get some of the other tasty looking stuff that they have.  They are also working on updating their cafe portion that looks good too.

Definitely a great place to get tasty stuff in Westboro, also the place is really clean and nice which is a plus.

While visiting here in Ottawa, I popped in with my sister so we could get some meats and cheeses for a home charcuterie supper. There is a huge selection here from dry goods, to cheeses, cured meats and prepared meals to take home and a sit in restaurant area as well.

The coolers at the back are a delicious sight to behold with a plethora of Italian meats and cheeses from across Canada and the world. Staff were very helpful helping us choose some cheeses and both knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making for a great experience.

Our selections made for a enjoyable evening in the Ottawa heat and I'd definitely recommend that you check this place out if you love Italian food or cheese, or as I like to call said people 'a normal human being'.
